1. When you are buying chametz after Pesach, make sure that the store has a mechirat chametz ishur (for all of the big chain stores there is an ishur).
2. An ishur mechirat chametz does not take the place of a teudat kashrut, and it does not ensure that the items that are in the store are kosher.
2.
If you need to buy chametz gamur in a store that does not have a document that shows that they sold their chametz, you are only allowed to buy products made after Pesach.
There are 3 signs to know that the food was made after Passover:
1. It is written: "baked after Passover" or "ground after Passover".
2. Check that the production date is after 9.4.2026
Many times the words 'date of manufacture' are written abbreviated: "ת.י."
3. Check that the number listed in the product code is higher than 6099 or 099
(The code is made up of two parts: the number on the left indicates the year of manufacture, and the numbers on the right indicate the number of days that have passed since the beginning of the foreign year.
The foreign year is 2026, so 6 is written. And the number of days that have passed until the day after Pesach is 099).
