Thank you for your feedback. We have decided to extend the deadline, and provide a bit more information on the Vaad selection process.
Nominations for Vaad positions end at 11:59 PM this Motzei Shabbat - 19 November. To those who have submitted your names already, thank you!
The KSYM Vaad consists of between 5 and 7 members of the Amuta (building fund membership), and there is a term limit of 3 consecutive years, so slots open every year. This year, we have 2 spots opening, and we are thrilled to already have submissions, but encourage anyone else who is interested to apply.
ALL building fund members can apply, even if you’ve served in the past (with at least one year since stepping down from the Vaad) or have applied in the past. People not chosen in previous years are encouraged to reapply. Many who have done so in the past were chosen within 1-2 years. Over 40 members have served on the Vaad, and we hope everyone can find a place to contribute to the Kehila in their own way.
Once our submission process has closed, a selection committee will review candidates and select the slate to bring to the Annual General Membership meeting (AGM) which will be held on December 31 this year at 7:30 PM - for a vote by our Amuta (building fund) members.
If you are interested in nominating someone (or yourself!) please do not hesitate to reach out to a member of the Vaad, or to members of this year’s selection committee.
