Message from Dov Katz, Shul President -

Dear Kehilla,

Baruch Hashem, we have fully emerged from the restrictions of Corona and our community has grown by leaps and bounds  since the last time we all davened together in shul for the Yamim Noraim.

Our shul is completely full for all daytime minyanim on Rosh Hashanah.

As we approach Yamim Noraim the Vaad and I would like to to share a couple of messages:

  • First and foremost we want to thank the many dedicated individuals who have spent an extraordinary amount of their personal time to ensure that there is a place to daven for the more than 1,100 people who requested and purchased seats.
  •
  • Thank you for responding to our survey about outdoor space.  Based on demand, and in an effort to preserve air conditioning and acoustics, downstairs doors will NOT be opened for the main Shacharit minyan.  Only gabbaim should be touching the doors downstairs.

  • As in previous years, our seating charts will be shared on Erev Chag (and the same for Yom Kippur).  The charts are final as the seating email is no longer  monitored.

  • On Rosh Hashanah,  there is only assigned seating in morning Minyanim.  Everyone is invited to sit where they like in the evenings.
  •
  • For the mornings of Rosh Hashanah, some people  will be seated at one of our two extension minyanim (one at a gan down the block from shul, the other at the Katz home).  In the evenings everyone is invited to daven together at shul, both upstairs and downstairs.

Lastly, and most importantly, I think it is important that we all keep in mind that the primary focus here is to enable a meaningful tefilla experience for our kehilla.  We may not all be able to sit exactly where we want, but the level of tefillah we reach as a community is completely within our control.

I ask, on behalf of the vaad and seating committee, for mechila, forgiveness, for anything which may not have come out exactly the way people requested.

Wishing everybody a Shabbat shalom and an early Ketiva V’Chatima tova.
