Dear and beloved Community,
On Motzaei Shabba we received the news of the assassination of Hassan Nasrallah and other Hezbollah commanders by the IDF. Nasrallah was a wicked evil man who founded the terrorist organization Hezbollah and led it for decades. He was a heinous murderer responsible for killing countless Jews, and his only aspirations were to murder more Jews.
The assassination of this evil man occurred on the last Shabbat of the year 5784. 5784 was a very challenging year with much pain and sorrow, as well as much bravery and self-sacrifice. We pray to the Hashem that just as we received good news on the last Shabbat of the year, it will be a sign that the coming year will be full of good news.
This Shabbat also marked the first day of creation, the 25th of Elul, on which it is said, "VaYehi Or" - and there was light. Indeed, when great darkness like Nasrallah departs from the world, there is an increase of light, and the air becomes cleaner.
The recent events, from the beeping devices and communication equipment, to the assassination of all Hezbollah leaders in such a short time, truly remind us of biblical stories about Sanherib, king of Assyria, whose soldiers were killed overnight, and about the swift downfall of Haman, and other biblical stories about the downfall of our enemies. We are truly witnessing the fulfillment of the phrase "Yesuat Hashem KeHeref Ayin" - the salvation of the Lord is as swift as a blink of an eye" - when Hashem decides to bring salvation to the Am Israel, it happens right away.
We thank HaKadosh Baruch Hu for all that He has done for us in recent times. It is very worthwhile to say "Mizmor LeToda" (Psalm 100) several times from the heart, and also to find other ways to thank God for all the good He has bestowed upon us. We also thank our leaders, the heads of the security forces, the pilots and soldiers, and everyone involved in the recent attacks, and everyone who works day and night to bring victory to the people of Israel.
The recent events raise the spirits of the people and give us motivation to continue fighting our enemies until they are destroyed.
And of course, along with gratitude for all the good, we will never stop praying for the future. We will 'rend the heavens' and ask our Father in heaven to continue bringing great victories to the people of Israel easily and quickly, and that we will merit to see the hostages return home safe and sound, that complete healing will be sent to all the wounded and sick, and that all the displaced will return to their homes.
"May the year end and its curses with it, may the year begin and its blessings with it!"
