Dear community:
Despite the current situation with the war and with Iran, we hope and pray for a peaceful Shabbat with normal t'fillot; however, we need to be prepared as best as possible with contingency plans.
1. The Vaad together with the Rav are following the guidelines of Pikud Haoref and as of now there are no special guidelines—everything can continue as usual. Things can change quickly, and so the kehila should pay attention to Pikud Haoref (including any advice about using הגל השקט).
2. The shul often has up to 800 people in the building over Shabbat, yet the Mamad only holds a much smaller number of people. In the event of a siren or a security situation mid-way through davening, people should calmly move away from windows/glass outer walls, and into the more protected inner portion of the shul.
3. Should the security situation change dramatically over Shabbat, a decision may be taken to modify tfilot and/or cancel planned minyanim and, in the extreme, close the building entirely. There are too many scenarios to predict in advance, and we trust all will use common sense.
Ultimately, though, each family should make their own decision as to what they feel is appropriate and comfortable for them this Shabbat.
Shabbat Shalom v'Bsorot Tovot
