Dear beloved community,

A.
First of all, I hope you all had a pleasant and good Pesach. With Hashem's help, we will all have a healthy summer, full of good news!

I believe that we all feel that nationally we are going through a complex period. Both in the relationships within Am Yisrael, as well as in the relations between us and our enemies. In the drashot in the shul and also in the recordings that I send, I try to relate to what we are going through.

In my humble opinion, our role at this time is to find unifying and strengthening points which will fill us with optimism and faith in Hashem and the people of Israel, towards a good future that will advance us further in the process of redemption that we have merited in our generation.

In the last few months, I was priveleged to be among a select group of Barkai rabbis who studied the topic of "the sanctity of life." Until גואל צדקנו arrives, we are all required to deal with questions of life and death. Medical innovations allow us to extend life, but this is not always accompanied by quality of life. This reality creates very complex questions that have halachic, moral, mental, and practical aspects.

The course we studied, in collaboration with the Puah Institute, gave us knowledge and tools that, B'Ezrat Hashem, will allow us to provide direction and guidance to families who are in those complex situations and have to make fateful decisions concerning life and death, organ donation, and more.

We all pray that we will not have to deal with such things. But with this course I have gained further knowledge and insight that I can share with you should the need arise
