קהילה יקרה,
מחשבות היום השמיני.
רקע:
בטבע שלי אני אדם שמאוד נוטה לתת אמון במנהיגים ולהיות לויאלי למערכת.
למשל, בתור רב קהילה, תמיד אכבד את הסמכות של רבנות העיר והרבנות הראשית.
לא בגלל שתמיד אני מסכים איתם, אבל מטבעי קל לי להיות לויאלי כי אני מאמין שהם מנסים לעשות טוב, ושצריך היררכיה במערכות, ולכן הדבר הנכון הוא לכבד את מה שהם אומרים ועושים.
אבל לאחרונה נהיה לי יותר ויותר קשה לתת אמון במערכות של המדינה ודרך הטיפול שלהם בקורונה ובעוד הרבה דברים.
למרות זאת אני מתאמץ בכל כוחי כן לשמור על האמון במדינה האהובה שלנו ובמנהיגיה.
תובנה:
ביום כיפור כולנו התפללנו להקב"ה שיתן בנו אמון.
למרות שבשנה האחרונה זיגזגנו הרבה פעמים, ועשינו דברים לא טובים מתוך אינטרסים אישיים, ומתוך יצרים ותאוות, דברים שפגעו בנו ובחברה.
בכל זאת ביקשנו מהקב"ה שיתחשב בחולשות שלנו, ולא ישפוט אותנו לפי החטאים, אלא יסתכל על הטוב שנמצא בתוכנו, ויתן לנו עוד שנה טובה ובריאה שבה נוכל לפעול ולתקן.
אז בואו ניתן את אותו קרדיט, גם לכל מי שנקרה בדרכנו, לגננת של הבת שלנו, למורה של הבן שלנו, להורים שלנו, ולילדים שלנו, לבני ובנות הזוג שלנו, ולחברי הממשלה שלנו.
גם כשקשה לנו עם ההתנהלות שלהם, נביט בהם בעין טובה וניתן להם הזדמנות נוספת, על ידי שניזכר בעצמנו עומדים בתחינה לפני הקב"ה ביום הכיפורים ומבקשים הזדמנות נוספת.
Thoughts from the eighth day.
Background:
By nature I am a person who is inclined to trust leaders and be loyal to the system.
For example, as a community rabbi, I will always respect the authority of the city rabbinate and the chief rabbinate.
Not because I always agree with them, but by nature it's easy for me to be loyal because I believe they are trying to do good, and that there needs to be a hierarchy in systems, so the right thing is to respect what they say and do.
But lately it has become increasingly difficult for me to trust the state's systems and the way they’ve treated Corona and many other things.
Despite this, I strive with all my might to maintain trust in our beloved country and its leaders.
Insight:
On Yom Kippur we all prayed to Hashem to trust us.
Although over the last year we have fluctuated many times, we have behaved badly out of self-interest and desires, behavior that has hurt us, and society.
Nevertheless, we asked Hashem to take our weaknesses into consideration, and not to judge us according to our sins, but to look at the good that is within us, and give us another good and healthy year in which we can strive to better our ways.
So let's give the same credit to everyone we meet along the way. To our daughter's Ganenet, to our son's teacher, to our parents, and to our children, to our spouses, and to our government members.
Even when it is difficult for us to reconcile with their conduct, we should look at them with a kind eye and give them another opportunity, by remembering ourselves standing before Hashem on Yom Kippur begging Him for another opportunity to do better.
